We've added Mylar to one side of this pad, while Silent BlueTM needs no added moisture protection since it is composed of closed cell membranes that can not be penetrated by moisture. Sometimes it tears while being walked on during installations. The rips need to be mended with a polyethylene tape or Silent BlueTM Tape. When this new product is installed with the metallic side down, it becomes very difficult to rip or tear during installation; saving a little time.
